Global Influenza Program, Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework & Zoonotic Influenza
Providing Member States with strategic guidance, technical support, and coordination of activities essential to make health systems better prepared against seasonal, zoonotic, and pandemic influenza threats to populations and individuals.
IHM helps countries implement the global approach to pandemic influenza preparedness (PIP) and response. The unit coordinates the work related to improve and strengthen sharing of influenza viruses with human pandemic potential and increase access of countries to vaccines and other pandemic related supplies carried out under the PIP framework. Additionally, it is responsible for managing the PIP Partnership contribution funds to support Member States in the SEA region.
